The Finished Work of Christ – IS ENOUGH!

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” — John 19:30 (KJV)

On the cross, Jesus spoke three powerful words: “It is finished.” With those words, He declared that the work of salvation was complete. Nothing more needed to be added. No good deeds, no rituals, no extra sacrifices — the full payment for sin was made. This is the heart of the gospel. Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live. He took our sins upon Himself and bore the punishment we deserved. Then He rose again, proving that His work was accepted by God the Father.

Repentance is the change of mind that stops believing salvation is “unfinished” or “up to us.” Instead, it believes the truth: Jesus already finished the work. Our part is not to add to what He did, but to believe in what He has done. When we trust in the finished work of Christ, we can rest in His promise. We don’t have to wonder if we’ve done enough. We know that He did it all.

The Only Way to Be Saved

In a world full of religions and ideas, many people say there are “many ways to God.” But Jesus said the opposite. He made it clear that there is only one way to the Father — through Him.

Jesus is not one of many doors. He is the only door. He is not one of many paths. He is the only path. If we try to come to God by any other way — through works, feelings, traditions, or another religion — we will not be saved. Repentance means changing our mind from thinking “many ways lead to God” to believing the truth: Jesus is the only way.

This is why faith in Christ is so important. It is not enough to believe He was a good man or a great teacher. We must believe He is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again. Only then can we have eternal life.
